Whether you’re a parent (now or in the future) or you are a caregiver for an adult in your life (now or in the future), it’s going to impact your power exchange. This week, let’s talk about how and what we’ve found that works for us.
In this episode:
- This week’s episode is not specific to parenting because we have multiple episodes about that – links in the places.
- But we will definitely talk about parenting and raising children in this episode.
- We are not parenting experts and do not give parenting advice.
- There are other ways we take care of others
- An adult living in your home
- An adult living in another location but you’re a primary caregiver
- No time
- Schedule
- Stress
- Arguments/disagreements – remind yourselves it’s you against the problem, not you against each other
- Exhaustion
- Small points of connection
- Little or no privacy
- Putting their needs over your own
- D/s no one will notice (previous episode)
- Reminder: This will not be forever in the vast majority of cases
- Adults no longer need you after a certain point
- Children grow up and become more independent
- You find your new normal and figure out how to cope
