Consider this a “political” episode but instead of rehashing the news, we’ll offer ways to get involved plus we’ll answer a question we received: can you have a power exchange with someone you disagree with politically?
If you didn’t know where we stand on these issues, now you do.
This week’s episode is in three parts (with time stamps):
- 16:10 What you can do to help the world around you
- 56:29 Our happy news (that shouldn’t be political but is)
- 1:13:30 Can you have a D/s relationship with someone you don’t agree with politically?
In this episode:
- 2026 Patreon Membership Drive
- We don’t bring up politics often but we do try to live our politics, ethics, and morals.
- Kink IS political.
- In case anyone wondered:
- Fuck ICE
- Trans rights are human rights
- Abortion is healthcare
- No one is illegal on stolen land
- We will say gay (regardless of what the state of Florida says)
- Sex work is work (we forgot to say this in the episode)
- Some one is going to think we’re being too political. Some one is going to think we’re not doing enough. We have to do what feels right to us.
- This isn’t an episode to go into detail about what’s happening out there. It’s an episode to share resources, share something we’re happy about – that has been made political, and to answer a kink question related to politics.
- Minnesota
- It’s not just Minnesota. States and specific cities have been targeted for ICE raids: Florida (Tampa, Orlando, and Miami), Maine, California (Keith Porter, Jr was killed in LA), New Orleans and South MS, Chicago, Charlotte NC, Memphis TN, Denver, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Atlanta, Seattle, NYC, Washington DC, and San Juan Puerto Rico
- What can you do?
- Stand with Minnesota
- Welcome.us
- Win Without War – Immigration and Mutual Aid Resources
- Google “mutual aid near me” for your specific area
- With anything in the US/world, there are ways to do something
- If you’re a person who’s a target of this administration, all you need to do is survive and thrive – in our opinion – unless you have the spoons and interest; those of us with privilege need to carry the load
- Donate if you have extra money
- Sign petitions, call your representatives, send emails, send MAIL
- Phone calls are considered most powerful but everything helps – do not let perfect be the enemy of the good
- Use the 5Calls app or ResistBot for scripts
- We follow ACLU, Indivisible, and Equality FL and take action as often as we can with petitions, letters/emails to our House Reps and Senators
- Phone calls are considered most powerful but everything helps – do not let perfect be the enemy of the good
- Stay informed – books, Associated Press, organizations you support, content creators who aren’t fear-mongering
- Amandasmildtakes (on all platforms including YouTube)
- Jbouie (on YouTube)
