Pleasure Dominant is a relatively new term, probably born from the internet, but what does it even mean? Let’s talk about it.
In this episode:
- New products available on our Etsy shop!
- Disclaimer: Regardless of our thoughts on a term, you get to use and define it for yourself in whatever way works for you.
- What is a pleasure Dom?
- Relatively new term – seems to be found primarily online.
- Definition: A pleasure dominant gets their sexual gratification from filling their partner’s sexual needs.
- Definition: A Pleasure Dom (an abbreviated form of “Pleasure Dominant”) is a style of dominance where the primary role is to focus on providing pleasure to their partner, combining elements of dominance and submission with the main emphasis being consensual pleasure.
- Evie Lupine’s definition: Sensation play and orgasm control (edging, torture, etc) that primarily focuses on acts of sexual pleasure performed by one partner on another; seems to be based on male Dom/female sub dynamics; may come from stereotypes of the “violent” nature of D/s that people want to avoid.
- Pleasure Doms don’t want to inflict pain. Okay, that just means you’re not a sadist.
- All responsible Doms should want to provide their submissive pleasure – how that happens depends on the dynamic between partners.
- The term and its definition seem to imply that the only “pleasure” is sexual, which isn’t true. It also implies that other types of Doms aren’t worried about pleasure other than their own.
