2022 Patreon Membership Drive: Calling All Proud Crickets

For the third year in a row, we’re back with another Patreon Membership Drive to (hopefully) give folks who have the means to join us over on Patreon.

We try to offer enough value to make a Patreon membership worth the expense. But we get something (beyond just money, lol) out of this too. Let me explain…

2021 was a dumpster fire for us:

• JB was hit by a literal, fucking car. And the bills are just now rolling in for that.
• The 16yo wrecked our car, and thankfully insurance covered all but $1000 of it.
• I (Kayla) lost a lot of work – work that was slowly killing me, but hey, it paid the bills.

We took hit after hit to our stress levels, energy, and bank account.

There was good in it, too, of course. The Kinkery grew, and we made a lot of content and connected with a lot of kinksters – things we love doing. Some of y’all were entertained and some got help, information, and connection you needed. In those ways, it was a damn good year.

But the stress and struggle were very real. We got it through it with the help of our kinky patrons over on Patreon.

The financial support definitely helped (obviously). But mostly, we had a place to vent, rant, complain, and celebrate with other kinksters (that would be our Patron-only Discord). We could be ourselves in that space and get support in intangible ways that really helped. (Sometimes you just need a funny meme to brighten your entire day, ya know?)

Now it’s a new year and a semi-fresh start. And we’re still here, ready to help our community and new-to-us kinksters who find us. And the reason we can do that is because of Patreon.

We keep our educational/helpful content mostly free because we know not everyone can afford to pay for it. And Patreon memberships make that possible. (Yet another reason why Patreon matters so much to us.)

So…let’s talk about this year’s Membership Drive and what you get all year long if you decide to join.

When You Join Us on Patreon…

We try to give as much as we receive. Anything less feels weird to us.

Everyone who joins (starting at $2 per month) gets extra content and access:

• Discord server for kinky patrons only: It’s a safe space of people who simply want to hang out with and learn from fellow kinksters. Our main rule: Don’t be an asshole. So far, no one has.
• Monthly live stream Q&A: It’s a cross between a Q&A episode and a hangout because we chit-chat and answer your kink questions. Some questions lead straight to Kayla Rants™.
• Behind-the-scenes podcast: It’s the business side of things – what we’re doing for the Kinkery and Loving BDSM – but in our bonus section style of chatting.
• Early access to videos before they’re on YouTube. Great for folks who want to watch our videos but don’t spend a lot of time on YouTube.
• Polls where we ask for your feedback, opinion, and what kind of content you want from us.

We offer four tiers so you can join based on your budget. If you choose anything above $2/month, you get extra perks.

$5 tier: You get everything above plus the ability to ask questions before the Q&A each month. This means that your question will definitely get answered, even if you can’t be at the live stream. (You can watch the video later to get the answer.)

$10 tier: You get everything the $5 tier gets plus you’ll be credited in the show notes page of the podcast and at the end of our shorter YouTube videos. We’re happy to use Fetlife/kink names or first name/last initial.

$25 tier: We know not everyone can do this one, and that’s okay. You get everything in the $10 tier plus every three months that you’re in this tier, you’ll get Loving BDSM merch. This is new for 2022. The merch will change every three months within the year so no long-term members get duplicates.

2022 Membership Drive

Okay, so that’s what we offer on Patreon during the year. What’s so special about the Membership Drive?

This is the one time a year we offer extra goodies. Think of us as a nicer, more benevolent (but kinky) witch enticing Hansel and Gretel into our sweet, sweet kinky house. (Making it an 18+ fantasy, obviously, lol.)

The membership drive runs from January 15 to February 15, 2022.

If you become a member (or stay a member) during that time, you’ll receiving goodies in the mail (more merch!) in March. What you get depends on the tier you choose:

• $2 tier: Loving BDSM bookmark
• $5 tier: Loving BDSM/Kinkery sticker pack
• $10 tier: Loving BDSM logo enamel pin
• $25: All of the things!

When you sign up for a monthly membership, you can change tiers based on your budget at any point. So if you want a certain goodie, make sure you’re in that tier during the membership drive. But if you don’t want to spend that much every month, feel free to drop down to a lower tier afterwards.

Annual Membership Discount

We offer annual membership through Patreon, too. Outside of the membership drive, you get a one-month free discount if you choose annual membership. That means you pay upfront for the entire year (pay for 11 months, get 12 months of access).

During the membership drive (January 15 through February 15), we increase the discount for annual membership. You get TWO months free if you sign up during that time. So you pay for 10 months upfront and get 12 months of access. 

The only downside is that it’s very difficult to switch tiers. But it’s great if you don’t want to worry about a monthly payment.

Why Join Our Kinky Community?

Well, we think we’re a bunch of super chill, super fun, super cool kinksters. So there’s that.

If you’re a bonus section junkie, you get more of that vibe through our Patreon. It’s more us and a group of other people who think what we do is pretty okay.

We also offer a kink community for folks who haven’t had much luck finding a local community or who want something laid back and a community that offers more than just dating/hook-ups/play partners.

I think we’re a great place for kinksters who recognize that kink and power exchange is just one facet of their life. Yes, it’s an important one (maybe the most important) but there’s still work, caregiving, pets, health, and other parts of life to navigate, too. Hell, in the Discord server, we have just as many channels for hobbies and other interests as we do for kink.
