We’ve been recording podcast episodes since 2015, and things have changed a lot in all these years. So we thought it might be interesting to go back to the earliest episodes, before we had indepth conversations with each other, and try again. And the only place to begin is at the beginning with episode 1. That was a six minute intro episode to draw our line firmly in the sand and say very clearly that all are welcome in here because anyone can be kinky.
But it’s us, so there’s definitely more to say than that. So that’s what we’re talking about this week!
In this episode:
- The Kinkery celebrates our one year anniversary with a sale!
- That original episode was recorded to remind people there’s no one right way to be into BDSM
- Roles are not identified by gender, sexuality, or anything else
- Reminder that literally anyone can be kinky; there’s no way to know by looking at someone (most of the time)
- BDSM is not homogenous; Be leery of communities that are (mostly cis, mostly straight, etc)
- We can’t assume we know how someone interacts with kink just because of their role – Dom, sub, switch, top, bottom, etc.
